For our Wednesday preprinted cover on the employment classifieds, Working, we had a story about how employers and employees can use wiki software (like Wikipedia) to collaborate and share their knowledge with other employees.
The image that stuck in my head was of a sort of digital water cooler. So I made a digital water cooler, with the boundless help of graphic artist Dana Fasano. The water flowing, and the “tap” imagery, were really to the credit of design editor Stephen Komives.
I was a little nervous. But I won the Sow’s Ear Award, our weekly award for the best page made with the least original elements.
