I’m not dead yet, Part II

I promised you an update, so here you have it. It’s short but sweet, which is sort of the way things have to be, since it’s technically Friday and I have to get up in not very many hours.

Anyway. I am now officially:

  1. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. I actually have the degree that says that I am a recipient of a bachelor’s degree in journalism. This $160,000 slip of paper is the key to a job, so, I hold it tightly. And, just for the record, Barack Obama was a great commencement speaker.

  2. A temporary employee of the Orlando Sentinel. Yes, just for the summer. I know there’s been some confusion about this. I’m designing for the Homes and A&E sections right now. If you live in Orlando, or have access for some other reason to a print edition, take a look-see on July 9, and I can show you my handiwork.

  3. A temporary resident of Orlando. See above, I guess. It’s pretty here… I live in Maitland, just two suburbs north of Orlando, and it looks a lot like western New Orleans. My favorite neighborhood here, though, is Thornton Park, which looks like a gentrified Southeast Portland. Anyway, I like it so far.

  4. The proud owner of a white 2006 Mazda 3. I had to have some way of getting around Orlando, and it wasn’t that much more expensive to buy a new car than to buy a used one. So there we have it. It’s a pretty little car, with a 2L 148hp engine, and it’s about the same price and about the same size as a Corolla or Civic. Why not buy a car that is more fun to drive?

I think that’s just about everything. Now, I am off to go to bed, to rest up before work tomorrow. Adieu!
