Moving

I’ve tried to keep up this kind of writing, to do what I love to do. Writing long, in-depth essays that meander along at their own pace is why I got started blogging in the first place.

Unfortunately, it is no longer practical.

As some of you all have noticed, I spend very little time in front of my home computer now. The three factors that killed off conventional blogging for me are: (1) the hours that I work; (2) my budding social life in Orlando, which requires care, like a delicate plant; and (3) the loss of the many airplane flights I used to take, during which time I wrote some of the most epic posts.

This weblog, with all of its many endless posts, will remain intact and preserved indefinitely at wesmeltzer.com/weblog. This site will continue to be my professional repository. I am going to let ideasalon.org die in peace when that domain name expires.

And I am relocating, effective today, to Particle and Parcel. The format’s different, and more conducive to my media-rich and time-poor existence. I intend to post each day.

Maybe someday I will return. But for now… we say goodbye.
