U.S.A.: Paleolithic Era, here we come!

So, Canada is going to legalize gay marriage and “marriage advocates” in Canada and the U.S. are shocked, just shocked that such a thing could ever happen! It’s the destruction of marriage and religion! Eee!

I think this is marvelous. You all know that already, of course, but I just want to reiterate it. I know I’m a little behind the curve on this, but I meant to write about it yesterday and was busy.

The painful absurdity of the United States, which thinks of itself as the leader of the free world, considering not recognizing legal marriages performed in Canada—for what may well be the first time in modern North American history—between two same-sex partners physically hurts me. I just don’t understand the concept that allowing secular marriage between two same-sex partners hurts religious marriage between a man and a woman. They’re not asking for religious marriage, although from what I’ve read the Anglican diocese of Vancouver, B.C. (not the lame-o Vancouver in Washington) will perform religious same-sex marriages. So. Where is the problem?

I have a hard time with all of this. Morons, all of you! What happened to the Western ethos of ‘live and let live’? Is that only for those with whom you agree, now?
